Chamber Music Hall
The Chamber Music Hall in Vitznau is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and features a high-tech infrastructure that enables top-quality sound recordings.
Architecture follows acoustics – this was the guiding principle for architects Paul Zimmermann and Reto Gmür, acoustician Martijn Vercammen (Peutz), and interior designer Erwin Sterling in creating the new hall.
The result is a space with a distinctive, almost intimate character, offering audiences an optimal sound experience and acoustics that truly give you goosebumps. Ceiling and wall panel reflectors, combined with six discreetly integrated speaker arrays and two mobile subwoofers, deliver sensational sound. Movable curtains serve as an additional acoustic element while adding visual accents.
For professional productions, the hall offers a recording and video studio, a control room, a digital DANTE audio network, a wireless microphone system, and three permanently installed 4K cameras. An induction loop has been integrated beneath the parquet flooring for guests with hearing impairments.
The hall accommodates up to 275 guests, including accessible seating. Modern lighting technology completes the experience: flexible LED lighting creates atmospheric scenes – particularly impressive when the starry sky of 1 August over Vitznau is visualised on the ceiling.
The foyer doubles as a multimedia hall multimedia hall, equipped with cutting-edge digital technology to create immersive worlds of image and sound. This makes it an independent space for presentations and multimedia knowledge sharing.
